Blackened Seasoning

Blackened Seasoning

Homemade blackened seasoning mix. I don’t even think I need to say anything more. I love blackened chicken, beef, shrimp, fish, etc. Anything is better blackened.

I make Blackened Shrimp Tacos just by cooking the shrimp in a skillet doused with these spices. Blackened Chicken Alfredo is a big hit during the work week and can be whipped up in minutes using jarred Alfredo Sauce.

It truly doesn’t get any better or quicker than using these spices and the best part making your own? You know everything that is in it.

Blackened Seasoning

  • Author: Patti
  • Yield: about 3 ounces 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a small bowl. Make sure it is blended evenly.
  2. Store in an airtight container and use as needed.

I use jars like these and just pencil in what spice mix it is then add it to the spice rack and I’m good to go!
