Meat Loaf


Ingredients

  • pound ground beef
  • ¾ cup oatmeal uncooked
  • ¼ cup onion chopped
  • 1½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup vegetable juice V-8
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ½ cup Italian bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • Worcestershire sauce to taste
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon yellow mustard

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, ketchup, and yellow mustard for glaze. Set aside.
  2. Mix ground beef, oatmeal, onion, salt, pepper, V-8, egg, Italian bread crumbs, and Worcestershire (to taste).
  3. Form into loaf.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  5. Top with glaze, bake for additional 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before serving.
