Magic Bars

It’s that time of year – Christmas time. And I can’t imagine Christmas without Magic Bars. You may have heard of Hello Dolly Bars or Seven Layer Bars. They are all the same.

Layers and layers of absolute goodness. And, yes, they are magically delicious! So easy and so good.

I think I’ll make a batch today! Afterall, it is the season to be merry and bright and stuffed full of sweetness!

Magic Bars

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with baking spray or butter. Line it with parchment paper and leave an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until the crumbs are evenly moistened.
  3. Press the wet cracker crumbs into the bottom of the greased baking dish. Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown.
  4. Take the baking dish out of the oven and carefully add the toppings.
  5. Sprinkle the semi-sweet chocolate chips, walnuts, coconut, and white chocolate chips over the hot crust. Use a spatula to spread it out and cover the crust evenly.
  6. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top but do not stir.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until lightly browned and the coconut flakes are golden. Let it cool to room temperature before slicing into squares.
  8. Using the overhangs, lift the baked dish onto a flat surface. Cut into bars with a sharp knife. Enjoy!
